We are very grateful to the various organisations that have helped us since we began to publish the Talking Newspaper in 1999 and have supported us in establishing this website.
The website was funded by a grant under the Community Chest campaign run by Radio Solent, to whom we express our thanks for that and all the publicity they have given us. For 2012 – A Memorable Year please click on the link below:
In 2016, the BBC included clips of Bob Lowe and the Talking Newspaper in 2 programmes: The Age of Loneliness and Inside Out . Bob was interviewed on Radio 5 Live and 2 Breakfast programmes to promote the programmes. The clip in the programme Inside Out broadcast by BBC South may be viewed by clicking on the link below:

The following organisations have kindly provided us with a mention in their websites:
New Milton Town Council
New Milton Today
Three organisations have provided us with premises. We started operations in the New Milton Memorial Centre:
We moved to Durlston Court School in Barton on Sea where we stayed for 10 years until July 2014.
Not only did the School provide us with a base and handle our incoming post, but they did so without charge which gave us a financial lifeline.
Thanks to the cooperation of the New Milton Town Council, we moved to the vacant tennis pavilion in New Milton in July 2014.
We are grateful for the ongoing support we receive from the Memorial Centre in New Milton in handling our incoming post and Royal Mail for handling our wallets by first class post free of charge.
Last but not least without the efforts of our loyal band of volunteers, we wouldn’t have a Talking Newspaper to publicise!
We are grateful for what our volunteers do for us and hang on to them as long as possible!
We owe so much to Joan Mulkern (Founder & Chairman 1999-2012) who retired in 2012. Joan was the figurehead – the name and face – of the Talking Newspaper. .
